Proudly claimed by locals as the eighth wonder of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Halong Bay (Ha Long Bay) is the most remarkable sight of natural beauty in all of Vietnam. Meaning "descending dragon," legend has it that the bay was created by a dragon who was sent by the gods to help protect Vietnam in times of war.
